BEA WebLogic Remote Unprivileged Administration Access Vulnerability

BEA WebLogic contains several undocumented applications that are normally used for data replication between servers and supporting application deployment. An unprivileged account could use these applications to gain access to the underlying system and any applications on the server.

Solution:
BEA Systems has released an updated advisory (BEA03-28.01) with additional fixes. In particular, a fix is available for WebLogic Server/Express 8.1. It has also been reported that the previous WebLogic Server/Express 7.x fix did not adequately address the issue and so a corrected fix has been issued.

The information provided in BEA03-28.01 supersedes BEA03-28.00.
