Discussion

Sefrengo CMS 'main.php' Cross Site Scripting and Multiple SQL Injection Vulnerabilities

Sefrengo CMS is prone to multiple SQL-injection vulnerabilities and a cross-site scripting vulnerability because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

Exploiting these issues could allow an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, control how the site is rendered to the user, compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.

Sefrengo 1.6.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Exploit / POC

An attacker can use a browser to exploit these issues. To exploit a cross-site scripting issue, the attacker must entice an unsuspecting victim to follow a malicious URI.

The following example URI's are available:

http://www.example.com /backend/main.php?area=con_configcat&idcat=1&idtplconf=0
http://www.example.com /backend/main.php?area=plug&idclient=1
http://www.example.com /backend/main.php?area=user&idgroup=0&order=&ascdesc=ASC&searchterm=&page=1
