SETI@home Client Program Information Disclosure Vulnerability

A vulnerability has been reported in the SETI@home client program. Specifically, sensitive information is transmitted from the client to the server in plain text. Information may include operating system and processor information.

An attacker could exploit this system by sniffing network traffic transmitted between the client and the server. Access to this type of information may aid in launching attacks against the system running the client.
