Discussion

Schneider Electric DS-NVs 'Rvctl.RVControl.1' ActiveX Stack Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Schneider Electric DS-NVs are prone to a stack buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input before copying it into a fixed-size buffer.

Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application (typically Internet Explorer) using the ActiveX control. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
