XBlockOut XBL Display Local Buffer Overrun Vulnerability

XBL is prone to a locally exploitable buffer overrun condition. This is due to insufficient bounds checking of command line options and could permit code to executed with elevated privileges. xbl is typically installed setgid 'games'.

Debian has released an advisory (DSA 345-1) that addresses this issue. Please see the attached advisory for details on obtaining and applying fixes.

The vendor has addressed this issue in xbl 1.1.1.
