SGI IRIX NFS Export Unauthorized Read/Write Mount Vulnerability

SGI IRIX is prone to an issue in its NFS implementation that could allow read-only file systems to be mounted read/write. This could permit unauthorized write access to said file systems.

This vulnerability is reported to only affect SGI IRIX 6.5.21.

Solution:
SGI recommends users to upgrade to IRIX 6.5.22 or to apply patches 5317 and 5318 for IRIX 6.5.21. Further details may be found in the attached SGI advisory.
