Ganglia gmond Malformed Packet Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability

It has been reported that Ganglia gmond is prone to denial of service attacks when handling malformed packets. Specifically, a packet with a name string of 1 byte will be handled in an unexpected manner, possibly causing an invalid pointer dereference. This would effectively cause the program to crash.
