Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions SmartHTML Interpreter Denial Of Service Vulnerability

A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in the SmartHTML interpreter component of FrontPage Server Extensions that may be exploited by remote attackers. This issue could be exploited to deny availability of CPU resources on the system, potentially causing a denial of service condition.

Microsoft has released updates to address this issue. It should be noted that the fix entitled "Security Update for Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions 2000" is not yet available for download at the time of writing.
