QID 150483: WordPress WPS Hide Login Plugin: Protection Bypass with Referer-Header Vulnerability (CVE-2021-24917)

WPS Hide Login is a very light WordPress plugin that lets you easily and safely change the url of the login form page to anything you want.

Affected versions of WPS Hide Login plugin has a bug which allows to get the secret login page by setting a random referer string and making a request to /wp-admin/options.php as an unauthenticated user.

Affected versions:
WPS Hide Login prior to 1.9.1

QID Detection Logic :
This QID sends an HTTP GET request and retrieves vulnerable version of WPS Hide Login Plugin running on the target application.

By exploiting this vulnerability, a remote attacker can retrieve the hidden login page of the WordPress site.

CVSS V3 rated as High - 7.5 severity.

CVSS V2 rated as Medium - 5 severity.

Solution
