QID 150502: WordPress LoginPress Plugin: Reflected Cross-Site Scripting(XSS) Vulnerability (CVE-2022-0347)

LoginPress Plugin by LoginPress holds a lot of customization fields to change the layout of the login page of WordPress.

The plugin does not escape the redirect-page parameter before outputting it back in an attribute, leading to a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting.

Affected Versions:
WordPress LoginPress Plugin before 1.5.12

QID Detection Logic:
This QID sends a HTTP GET request and checks for vulnerable version of WordPress plugin running on the target application.

Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of the interface or allow the attacker to access sensitive, browser-based information.

CVSS V3 rated as High - 6.1 severity.

CVSS V2 rated as Medium - 4.3 severity.

Solution

Customers are advised to upgrade to LoginPress Plugin 1.5.12 or later version to remediate this vulnerability.
