QID 150652: WordPress Clean Login Plugin: Stored Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability (CVE-2022-4838)

Clean Login is a free WordPress plugin that provides a customizable and secure login page for WordPress sites.

The Clean Login WordPress plugin has a security vulnerability that could be exploited by attackers with a low-level user role, such as a contributor. Specifically, the plugin fails to properly validate and escape certain shortcode attributes before displaying them on the page. This leaves the door open for Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, which can be used to target high-privilege users like admins.

The Clean Login WordPress plugin before 1.13.7

This QID sends a HTTP GET request and checks for vulnerable version of WordPress plugin running on the target application

Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of the interface or allow the attacker to access sensitive, browser-based information.
