QID 150693: Grafana Race Condition Vulnerability (CVE-2023-2801)

Grafana is a multi platform open source analytics and interactive visualization web application. It provides charts, graphs, and alerts for the web when connected to supported data sources.

Using public dashboards users can query multiple distinct data sources using mixed queries. However such query has a possibility of crashing a Grafana instance. The only feature that uses mixed queries at the moment is public dashboards, but its also possible to cause this by calling the query API directly. This might enable malicious users to crash Grafana instances through that endpoint.

Affected Versions:
Grafana versions from 9.4.0 to 9.4.11
Grafana versions from 9.5.0 to 9.5.2

QID Detection Logic :
This QID sends an HTTP GET request and retrieves a vulnerable version of a Grafana running on the target application.

Successful exploitation could allow malicious users to crash Grafana instances through that endpoint.
