QID 150772: WordPress Hostinger Plugin: Missing Authorization Vulnerability (CVE-2023-6751)
The Hostinger WordPress plugin is designed to help users to launch WordPress website quickly and easily.
The Hostinger plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized plugin settings update due to a missing capability check on the function publish_website. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to enable and disable maintenance mode.
Affected Versions:
WordPress Hostinger Plugin before 1.9.8.
QID Detection Logic:
This QID sends a HTTP GET request and checks for vulnerable version of WordPress plugin running on the target application.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an unauthorized attacker to enable and disable maintenance mode.
Solution
Customers are advised to upgrade to Hostinger 1.9.8 or later version to remediate this vulnerability.
