QID 150813: Information Disclosure via PHP Function phpinfo

During the scan of the web application we detected phpinfo.php.

Exposure of phpinfo.php leads to leakage of sensitive information about the Web server.

By exploiting this vulnerability, any user could obtain very sensitive information about the Web server host. This information may aid in attacks against the host.

CVSS V3 rated as High - 7.6 severity.

CVSS V2 rated as High - 6.8 severity.

Solution

You should immediately remove all such files from the public domain on your Web server.
