QID 150840: WordPress Essential Blocks Plugin: Local File Inclusion Vulnerability (CVE-2023-6623)

Essential Blocks is the ultimate Gutenberg blocks library for WordPress to add power to the block editor and create stunning websites.

The Essential Blocks WordPress plugin does not prevent unauthenticated attackers from overwriting local variables when rendering templates over the REST API, which may lead to Local File Inclusion attacks.

Affected Versions:
WordPress Essential Blocks Plugin before 4.4.3

QID Detection Logic:
This QID sends an HTTP GET request with payload to access "/etc/passwd" file and based on the response determines if the target application is vulnerable.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to read arbitrary files on the target system.
