QID 20407: IBM DB2 Remote Code Execution (RCE) Vulnerability (7105503)

IBM Db2 is vulnerable to remote code execution caused by installing like-named jar files across multiple databases. A user could exploit this by installing a malicious jar file that overwrites the existing like-named jar file in another database.

Affected Versions:
IBM DB2 10.5 prior to special build for 10.5 FP11
IBM DB2 11.1 prior to special build for version V11.1.4 FP7
IBM DB2 11.5 prior to special build version 11.5.8

Prior to Special Build version V11.5.9

Note: Only instances with more than one database are affected. QID Detection Logic:
Authenticated (DB2):
This QID queries the DB2 server to get the server version and fix pack level and checks to see if it's vulnerable.

Authenticated (Windows):
This QID checks for vulnerable versions of DB2 on windows OS

Successful exploitation could compromise Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability

CVSS V3 rated as High - 6.5 severity.

CVSS V2 rated as Medium - 3.6 severity.

If your instance has multiple databases, then ensure that JAR files for each database are installed in separate schemas (i.e. there is no overlap in the schemas used for JAR files across all the databases).
