QID 317026: Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerability (cisco-sa-ise-xss-4HnZFewr)
A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with administrative credentials to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the interface. This vulnerability exists because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input.
QID Detection Logic (Authenticated):
The check matches the Cisco ISE version and ise_patch retrieved via Unix Auth using "show version" command.
A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the interface or access sensitive, browser-based information. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would need valid administrative credentials.
