QID 317413: Cisco Small Business Series Switches Stacked Reload Access Control List (ACL) Bypass Vulnerability (cisco-sa-sb-bus-acl-bypass-5zn9hNJk)

Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based user interface of certain Cisco Small Business Series Switches could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition or execute arbitrary code with root privileges on an affected device. These vulnerabilities are due to improper validation of requests that are sent to the web interface.

Affected Products
Business 250 Series Smart Switches
Business 350 Series Managed Switches
Vulnerable Version:
Prior to version 3.4.0.17
Note: This is a potential check as ACLs configured check not added and the device model cannot be confirmed.

QID Detection Logic (Unauthenticated):
The unauthenticated check tries to fetch the Cisco Smart Switch vulnerable version in response to GET request to an API, but not the model number.

A successful exploit could allow the attacker to bypass configured ACLs, causing traffic to be dropped or forwarded in an unexpected manner.

  • CVSS V3 rated as High - 7.2 severity.
