QID 375832: Apache Hive Sensitive Information Exposure Vulnerability (HIVE-22708)

Apache Hive is a data warehouse software project built on top of Apache Hadoop for providing data query and analysis. Hive gives an SQL-like interface to query data stored in various databases and file systems that integrate with Hadoop.

Apache Hive cookie signature verification used a non constant time comparison which is known to be vulnerable to timing attacks. This could allow recovery of another users cookie signature.

Affected Versions:
Apache Hive Versions prior to version 2.3.8

This QID checks for vulnerable Apache Hive version with hive --version command.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability could allow recovery of another users cookie signature.
