QID 376220: Acronis Cyber Protect Arbitrary Code Execution Vulnerability

Acronis Cyber Protect is the only solution that natively integrates cybersecurity, data protection, and management to protect endpoints, systems, and data.

Acronis Cyber Protect includes an OpenSSL component that specifies an OPENSSLDIR variable as a subdirectory within C:\jenkins_agent\. It contains a privileged service that uses this OpenSSL component.
Because unprivileged Windows users can create subdirectories off of the system root, a user can create the appropriate path to a specially-crafted OpenSSL.cnf file to achieve arbitrary code execution with SYSTEM privileges.

Affected Version:
Cyber Protect 15

QID Detection Logic:(Authenticated)
This QID checks for display version from registry settings and also checks the existence of the application file cyber-protect-service.exe

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to arbitrary code execution with SYSTEM privileges.
