QID 379159: Zoom Desktop Client and VDI Improper Authentication Denial of Service (DoS) Vulnerability (ZSB-23062)

Zoom provides video communications with a cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars across mobile, desktop, and room systems.

Improper authentication in some Zoom clients before version 5.16.5 may allow an authenticated user to conduct a denial of service via network access. Affected Versions:
Zoom Desktop Client for Windows, macOS, Linux before v5.16.5
Zoom VDI Client before v5.16.5 (excluding 5.14.14 and 5.15.12)
Note: Zoom SDK is currently not supported.

This authenticated QID detects vulnerable Zoom Client and VDI for affected versions (Windows, Linux and macOS)

On successful exploitation an authenticated attacker to conduct a denial of service via network access.

CVSS V3 rated as High - 6.5 severity.

CVSS V2 rated as High - 6.4 severity.

Solution

Customers are advised to upgrade to Zoom Client 5.16.5 or later to remediate these vulnerabilities.
