QID 379388: GitHub Enterprise Server Incorrect Authorization Vulnerability (CVE-2024-1482)

GitHub provides hosting for software development version control using Git.

CVE-2024-1482: An incorrect authorization vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an attacker to create new branches in public repositories and run arbitrary GitHub Actions workflows with permissions from the GITHUB_TOKEN.

Affected Versions:
GitHub Enterprise Server version 3.9.0 to 3.9.9.
GitHub Enterprise Server version 3.10.0 to 3.10.6.
GitHub Enterprise Server version 3.11.0 to 3.11.4.

QID Detection Logic:
It checks for vulnerable versions of the GitHub Enterprise Server.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow an attacker to create new branches in public repositories and run arbitrary GitHub Actions workflows with permissions from the GITHUB_TOKEN.
