XAMPP is an Apache distribution designed for easy installation. It includes MySQL, PHP, and Perl CGI support.

CVE-2024-0338: A buffer overflow vulnerability has been found in XAMPP affecting version 8.2.4 and earlier. An attacker could execute arbitrary code through a long file debug argument that controls the Structured Exception Handler (SEH).

Affected Version:
XAMPP version prior and including 8.2.4.

It checks for vulnerable versions of XAMPP by checking the file version on Microsoft Windows.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow attackers to execute arbitrary code through a long file debug argument that controls the Structured Exception Handler (SEH).
