QID 44119: Juniper Network Operating System (Junos OS Evolved) Specific TCP Packets Bypass Control Plane Firewall Filter (JSA73168)

Juniper Junos is the network operating system used in Juniper Networks hardware systems.

An Incorrect authorization vulnerability in specific TCP packets of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved addressed to the router can bypass intended access restrictions even though a control plane firewall filter is configured correctly.

This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved: all versions prior to 20.4R3-S4-EVO; 21.1-EVO version 21.1R1 and later versions; 21.2-EVO version 21.2R1 and later versions; 21.3-EVO versions prior to 21.3R3-S2-EVO; 21.4-EVO versions prior to 21.4R2-S1-EVO, 21.4R3-EVO; 22.1-EVO versions prior to 22.1R3-EVO.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability will allow an unauthenticated, network based attacker to bypass intended access restrictions.

CVSS V3 rated as Critical - 8.2 severity.
