QID 580509: Integer Fields Response Mismatch Schema

In this scenario integer fields are tested. Integer fields are updated with decimal values. These fields are sent to the server for the endpoint(s) being tested. The expectation is that APIs will reject the request as invalid, rather than rounding it. Based on the response received from the server on the request with decimal values in place of integers it is determined that the response to integer fields with decimal values is rejected but not as expected. The request with invalid values is rejected. The response received for the request with decimal in place of integer is not expected and does not match the response documented in the swagger file schema.

Enforcing the types of values defined on the integer field in swagger file will help provide clarity to the API users and avoid abuse of the API by hackers. Since the response does not match the swagger documentation of the end point API users do not have clarity.

Solution

Please update the API endpoint response to match the swagger schema definition or update the schema to match the server response.
