WordPress is an open source blogging tool and content management system based on PHP and MySQL. It has many features including a plug-in architecture and a template system.

WordPress mentions that the only current officially supported version is WordPress 6.0.2. There are no fixed period of support nor Long Term Support (LTS) version such as Ubuntu and none of them are safe to use, except the latest series, which is actively maintained.

The system is at high risk of being exposed to security vulnerabilities. Since the vendor no longer provides updates, obsolete software is more vulnerable to viruses and other attacks.
