QID 730723: WordPress Plugin Loco Translate Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerability

Loco Translate provides in-browser editing of WordPress translation files and integration with automatic translation services.

Loco Translate WordPress plugin does not properly remove inline events from elements in the source translation strings before outputting them in the editor in the plugin admin panel, allowing any user with access to the plugin to add arbitrary javascript payloads to the source strings leading to a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability.

Affected Versions:
Loco Translate Plugin versions prior to 2.6.1

QID Detection Logic(Unauthenticated): This unauthenticated detection depends on the BlindElephant engine to detect the vulnerable version of the Loco Translate plugin.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow an authenticated attacker with the ability to create posts can execute JavaScript code in a victim's browser.
