QID 730969: QNAP QTS Command Injection Vulnerability (QSA-23-35)

An OS command injection vulnerability has been reported to affect several QNAP operating system and application versions. If exploited, the vulnerability could allow remote attackers to execute commands via a network.

QNAP QTS version 4.3.3.2420 prior to build 20230621
QNAP QTS version 4.2.6 prior to build 20230621

QID Detection Logic:
This QID checks for vulnerable version of QNAP QTS target by sending a GET request to 'authLogin.cgi' endpoint.

Note: This detection does not check the version of Media Streaming Add-On, hence the detection is kept potential.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands.

  • Solution
