QID 731240: QNAP QTS Multiple Security Vulnerabilities (QSA-20-01)

QTS is the operating system for all entry-level and mid-level QNAP NAS models.

CVE-2018-19943: If exploited, this cross-site scripting vulnerability could allow remote attackers to inject malicious code.
CVE-2018-19949: If exploited, this command injection vulnerability could allow remote attackers to run arbitrary commands.
CVE-2018-19953: If exploited, this cross-site scripting vulnerability could allow remote attackers to inject malicious code.

NOTE:
The impact is limited to QNAP NAS devices only.

QID Detection Logic (Unauthenticated):
This QID checks for vulnerable versions of QNAP QTS target by sending a GET request to 'authLogin.cgi' endpoint.

Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities may allow remote attackers to inject malicious code or run arbitrary commands on the target system.

  • Solution
