QID 91841: Microsoft Windows Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability (Zero-day) (DEPRECATED)

As part of the November 2021 Patch Tuesday, Microsoft fixed a 'Windows Installer Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability' vulnerability tracked as CVE-2021-41379.
This vulnerability was discovered by security researcher Abdelhamid Naceri, who found a bypass to the patch and a more powerful new zero-day privilege elevation vulnerability after examining Microsoft's fix

Windows 10, version 21H1

Note: Deprecated QID 91841 as QID 91840 is already present
The QID is retired on December 06, 2021.

Could allow an attacker to gain unauthorized higher privileges with system-level privileges.

CVSS V3 rated as High - 7.8 severity.

CVSS V2 rated as High - 6.8 severity.

Solution

Microsoft has not released patches that remediate these vulnerabilities. Customers are advised to contact Microsoft regarding official updates or workarounds.
